We Dey For You: “This Father’s Day Let’s Truly Listen To Our Fathers”

This Father's Day Let's Truly Listen To Our Fathers

“Feels like these walls are closing in…

Rooms getting smaller every time.”

— Elizabethan, We Dey For You

This Father’s Day, We Dey For You isn’t just a song. It’s a lifeline, a deeply honest anthem for the men who show up every day, not because it’s easy, but because they were told they must.

It’s for the fathers who carry the world but aren’t allowed to say, “I’m tired.”

Society raised them to be Superman, invincible, stoic, and strong. But what happens when Superman breaks down behind closed doors? When he cries into his pillow but tells his son, “Be a man”?

What if we’ve misunderstood strength all along?

We Dey For You’s verses unmask the reality: men, fathers especially, are battling depression, anxiety, trauma quietly. They smile through pain. They bury emotions so deep even they forget where they put them. And when that pain becomes too heavy, silence turns fatal.

“Depression and suicide…

Feels like I’ll take my life.”

This isn’t poetry. It’s happening every day. Many fathers don’t ask for help because they believe doing so disqualifies them from manhood. But vulnerability is not a weakness. It’s human.

Let’s remind every man listening to We Dey For You that those words aren’t just a catchy hook. They’re a promise, A community and A commitment.

Even when you don’t know how to ask,

Even when you think no one cares.

We Dey For You.
